As of tonight, we have finished installing hardwood flooring in the office, dining room, guest bedroom and hallway. A few more faucets were installed today. Rick connected the water line from the well to the house, and the HVAC guys are supposed to be out tomorrow. Our concrete guy also came out tonight and will start forms on the back porch extension, front porch steps, front sidewalk, and driveway extension tomorrow. They plan to pour the concrete on Friday.
We received excellent news today! Our interest rate lock was to expire on May 5th, so we had to be completely finished and ready to close before that date. We had one free relock, but the date was to stay at May 5th. I saw that the interest rate dropped 1/8% yesterday, so I called to relock. After unsuccessfully trying to talk to our bank lady all day, I headed over to the bank between work and home health patients. We were able to lock at the lower rate, but, most importantly, the lock date was moved back to May 20th!!! This really takes off a huge amount of pressure. We have so much left to finish, and closing two weeks from tomorrow was going to be very difficult.
