Rick arrived Friday morning with the trailer and the remaining upper and lower cabinets, and I arrived Friday afternoon. He unloaded the cabinets and had the upper ones installed when I got there. The lower ones were a little more complicated to get leveled up (nothing in the house is square), and Rick ended up having to make a trip under the house in some mud to repair a pipe that broke off while attempting to get the kitchen sink cabinet in place.
It was a hot and humid weekend, so Saturday morning before 8am we decided to carry the tree branches to the city brush dumping area near the lake while we had the trailer available. It ended up taking two trips. We also made a trip to the city hall dumpster to take a lot of stuff that's been collecting under the car port for a while (an old furnace, the old windows, old pipes, paneling, some old furniture from the storage shed, etc.). We worked more on the kitchen and bathroom cabinets, installed the window seats, installed the 2 remaining floor cabinets (somehow I didn't get a picture of the kitchen with these in place!). I also hoed weeds and sanded previously filled nail holes in the doorways, windows, and baseboards.
Sunday, we installed the baseboards in the living room, 3rd bedroom, and some in the kitchen (we'll have to get the utility room flooring and kitchen window bench in place and the kitchen cabinet bases finalized in order to finish), caulked baseboards/windows/door frames, and filled nail holes in the newly installed areas. I also removed all interior door hinges to make caulking easier and to prepare for painting the trim soon and vacuumed the walls and floor in the master bedroom. We also loaded up the old tower and cables onto the trailer and brought it back to Lubbock. Sunday morning was quite stormy, and we lost some branches in a backyard tree.
