6/1/25

We both arrived Friday afternoon and installed baseboards through most of the house and focused on completing the difficult areas in corners and closets. We brought the new baseboards that Rick purchased Friday morning but forgot to bring the other baseboards we had already purchased, so we weren't able to finish but it should be quick to finish up next time. We also finished the door trim on the 3rd bedroom door inside the laundry room, created window seats and bottom trim for all of the windows, filled nail holes, sanded baseboards and door frames, and caulked the baseboards and doors (until we ran out of caulk). The window seats returned to Lubbock with us for sanding, routing, and painting.

We also spent a few hours trimming trees in the backyard area this morning while it was still relatively cool. It was badly needed and looks much better! We have a very friendly roadrunner who visits regularly and even got into Rick's van last week. I think he'd go in the house if the door was open.

Next time we'll finish the baseboards, finish caulking and sanding, place and caulk the window seats, and maybe paint baseboards/door frames or work on the bathroom floors.
