Rick is working on drawers, and I had a successful shopping trip tonight after work and picked up a bar refrigerator and stair treads.

01-23-2011: Trim finished, drawers started

Rick has essentially finished all of the trim (except we're going to add more crown molding to an area in the basement) and began building drawers today.  The kitchen drawers have to be constructed a little differently than normal because we are using soft-closing drawer glides, but Rick figured them out today. 

When the kitchen drawers are finished, the doors and drawers will be hung in place and we'll hire the staining crew to stain and seal the kitchen, bar, living room beam, office/pantry doors, entertainment hutch area, and front door.  Rick will then get started with painting walls, windows, trim, and bathroom/utility room cabinets.

This is a better shot of the ceiling beam in daylight.  We've ordered some crown molding for the sides.  Minx likes the new window sills. 

The cabinet doors and drawer fronts are being made by a local cabinet guy right now and should be ready this week.  Rick is finishing up the trim and will begin building drawers very soon.  He's gotten several bids on staining and sealing the kitchen/bar cabinets, living room beam, front door, and office/pantry doors, and we're hopefully not too far away from getting that started.  It should only take a few days.   He's also getting close to being ready to paint.

Thanks to some really nice weather today, Rick finally put up the beams on the back porch and moved the supports to the front in preparation for pouring the front porch sometime soon.

Rick has been working on the living room beam and finishing up the trim.  Travis has been caulking and filling nail holes.  Rick started working on the stairs yesterday, so maybe there will be some interesting pictures to post.

Randy moved some dirt piles around with the tractor and started working on the front porch area before the cold weather arrived.
