We now have beams up in the entry way, dining room, and office.  Rick will work on the spare bedroom tomorrow.  These will all be painted.  He'll then tackle the living room beam which will eventually be stained.  He also installed the office doors yesterday.

Rick worked more on trim today above the bar and in the bathrooms.  He has also started working on the beam in the front entryway.   The pantry and office doors were delivered too.

Rick continues working on trim in the kitchen and bar.  The last picture is a guinea hen that has been drinking out of the temporary koi pond this week.

Rick has been working on crown molding in the kitchen and hall.  He'll start putting trim on the tops of the cabinets next.

Rick has finished the kitchen cabinets for now.  He ordered crown molding for the tops of the cabinets and ceilings today.  He also started putting up the vent hood.  I included the original drawing Rick made of the kitchen cabinets and some possibilities for the wood flooring and bathroom tile.

The kitchen cabinet construction continues.  Rick has the bases of the bottom cabinets in place and will work on face frames tomorrow.  We spent a couple of hours looking at tile and hardwood floors today and have it really narrowed down now.

 Rick is cranking out kitchen cabinets!  He has two more upper cabinets going and is working on the face frames tonight.  So far, the kitchen is going much faster than I expected.  Maybe the move-in date isn't quite as far away as we thought......



12-07-2010: Stone, day 6 (finished!); Kitchen, day 2

The stone guys finished up just before it got dark tonight.  These guys did an excellent job---they are true craftsmen!  We hope to get them back in a month or two for the fireplace and hearth.   Rick continues his work on the kitchen cabinets.
